Match Lineup
Roster and match scheduling for competitive team programs. Coaches build lineups, publish match assignments, and keep athletes and parents informed — including by text message, when they have asked to be.
What Match Lineup does
Match Lineup is a web and mobile application operated by Penland LLC. A coach or program administrator creates a team, invites athletes and their parents or guardians, and uses the application to:
- Maintain a team roster with contact information supplied by each participant.
- Build and publish match lineups and individual match assignments.
- Post schedule changes, venue changes, and call times.
- Send those notifications to participants who have opted in to receive them.
Match Lineup is used by the teams that adopt it. It is not a marketing platform, it does not sell advertising, and it does not send messages to anyone who has not been added to a roster by their own coach and given consent.
Text message notifications
Match Lineup can deliver time-sensitive team notifications by SMS. This is an optional feature. It is off until the recipient turns it on.
How consent is collected
Consent is collected inside the Match Lineup application, at the moment a participant joins a team roster and again any time they edit their notification settings. No phone number receives messages until the box below has been checked by the person who owns that number (or by the parent or guardian of a minor participant).
The checkbox is unchecked by default and is presented separately from any other agreement. A participant can use every other part of Match Lineup without ever checking it.

Lineup published: "Match Lineup: Coach Rivera posted the lineup for Saturday's match vs. Northside. You're in the 141 slot, call time 8:15am. Reply STOP to opt out."
Schedule change: "Match Lineup: Sunday's match moved to Glen Allen HS, new start 1:00pm. Reply STOP to opt out."
